What I present to my clients is ARMA's Information Governance Maturity
Model. Transnational corporations, law firms, and Fortune 500 firms
immediately "get it" that how they suck at managing information can be
diagnosed, and a clear path forward created using their technology, people,
corporate culture, scale, and particular set of problems can be created. No
two implementation plans are the same because the vision must be developed.
We start at different places and end at different places depending upon all
of the above, and whether the "right people" are part of the vision. Because
we start with ARMA's Principles, we start with the strategic intelligence
that can help transform the organization, not just remediate the problem.

That is the Christensen and Porter level of Strategy (big S), not the
battlefield strategy (little s) distinction I made earlier. Here's my
syllabus http://ils.indiana.edu/syllabi/fall_2011/S555_Choksy.pdf for
understanding the kind of Strategy a framework provides versus an
implementation plan.

Best wishes,
Carol
