I hereby propose that we apply the metric system to time and dates. Thus, 1
year (365.242 days under the imperial system) is made up of 10 months, with
10 weeks to a month and 10 days to a week. Okay, yes, it completely ignores
the earth's rotation, it would cause massive social upheaval, and wars would
break out worldwide. But after 100 years or so at least there would be no
shadow of a doubt that 2013.622 refers to August 16, 2013.
Given that Excel recognizes "Aug 16, 2013" but not "Aug. 16, 2013" nor "Aug
16 2013," it might be worth it.
It's Friday.
