In my experience, very few legacy structured data systems kept metadata that was useful in records management. Thus I expect there are few stats on the subject.
Moving structured data to an archive is an opportunity to add necessary metadata. Unfortunately, the leading structured data archiving tools, such as Optim, HP Autonomy, and Informatica offer none-to-vestigial records management capabilities, at least in their out-of-the-box versions. I've heard they have plans, but....
