Just to make myself a little more clear I am looking for specific regulations pertaining to CPA's records of their clients. How long do they need to keep them because technically they are copies and the owner is really the client correct? Tax Returns, etc.

Also, Financial Planning records, obviously life of client, but for any period after that?

I guess I am not using the right search words because all I keep getting are retention guides that CPA's provide for their corporate clients.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: CPA Retention Requirements & Policies

Hi everyone,

Long time since I've posted, hope all is well in the world of RM. I am currently looking for employment but in the meantime I'm trying to help out a friend in the CPA industry. I was wondering if there were any CPA's out there willing to share some knowledge with me with regards to what regulations are required for CPA's and TAX preparer's and are there any policies or procedures different than any other business is required to maintain?

Any and all help as usual would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
