William - as one of them there Commie LibDems from the People's Republic of Boulder myself, I agree with what you said to Hugh - except for attaching it to politics.  Many of the more right-wing-leaning members of this list are also on LinkedIn and Twitter and Youtube and perhaps even Facebook. It's not politics - it's acknowledging that we live in the 21st century. More importantly, it's something that as Records Managers we must learn that we can't eliminate from our workforce, so, once again, we must allow ourselves to be dragged into the present and realize that documents and records are produced on Social websites and that therefore, those need to be treated as records formats in the same way as PDFs, emails, and (sorry, Mr. Whittaker) paper. I don't think Hugh's views are politically behind the times, just behind the times, period.
