This works for very limited info, and hard to make it look professional, and if barcodes are used a label is pretty much mandatory. For really permanent labels (at least they have held up for 30 + years so far) we have used labels from the Hollinger/Metal Edge company that have a foil backing, I believe Gaylord Brothers also has a comparable product.
