I had an 8-track tape player in my car; a desktop 8-track deck with
two speakers in my bedroom along with a 'record player' (played LPs
and 45s) and a radio; an old portable black and white TV with a faulty
on/off switch. I replaced the on and off switch; metal. One
afternoon I apparently had left my window open and it rained in; got
the wood floor wet. Barefoot, I turned on the TV and was zapped; as I
had not insulated the 'rural engineered' switch. A quick lesson in
situational awareness and electrical codes and standards...

Some of my 8-tracks at the time:  Mitch Ryder & Detroit Wheels; Elvis;
Bob Wills; Sly & Family Stone; Johnny Cash; Otis Redding; Gene Autry;
Rascals; Tammy Wynette; Steppenwolf; Creedence Clearwater (original
southern rock...); Temptations; Charley Pride; Allman Bros; Merle
Haggard; Rare Earth; Eddy Arnold; Clarence Carter; Johnny Bond; Tom
Jones; Marty Robbins; Sam & Dave; Conway Twitty; Neil Diamond; Ray
Price; The Band; George Jones; Hollies; Patsy Cline; Guess Who; Franki
Valley & Four Seasons; Roy Orbison; Sons of the Pioneers; Tommy James
& Shondells; Tommy Duncan; Wilson Pickett; Ray Charles; and Johnny
Rivers.

I do not know what happened to all those 8-track tapes; do not recall
seeing them after I returned from the military. Might have to ask my
little brother one of these times.

Best regards, Steve
