I have been trying to wrap my mind around a quote from one of my
favorite science fiction authors (Cordwainer Smith) who mostly wrote odd
but compelling stories of life among humans and others around 20-50,000
years into the future and whether it has any significance for the
information governance issues around which we all struggle.

Here is the quote

"Poor communications deter theft;
good communications promote theft;
perfect communications stop theft.
—Van Braam "

Does better information governance mean lots of transparency for good or
ill -- not just internally but to all stakeholders who can and most likely will
find a way to pull on the loose strings of our IG sweater.
