I, too, enjoyed Cordwainer Smith.

The current issue about communication in information governance is 
this:  The lack of consensus amongst IG stakeholders limits 
communication and, therefore, the gains IG can achieve.  IG lacks a 
generally accepted definition and vocabulary, and this makes 
communication difficult.

As for transparency:  The Principles (nee GARP) apply to IG as well as 
RIM.  Clearly (pun intended), transparency is a goal deserving ongoing 
effort.
