If you're a Twitter user, you should be receiving a notice form them in the
next day or two about them making some changes, mainly to accommodate the
'commercial experience' within Twitter's boundaries.
https://twitter.com/tos
https://twitter.com/privacy
The two notable changes in the short announcement were these:
How we collect certain types of information, including location information
(such as through IP address or nearby access points), and information when
you install another application through Twitter.
That we may share data with our corporate affiliates consistent with our
respective privacy policies, for example, if you use your Twitter
credentials to login to Vine, our short looping video service, or to
provide better ads through MoPub, our mobile-focused advertising exchange.
If you're a regular user and have a lot of content in your Twitter account,
you might want to consider changing your log in info and password before
all of this happens, because I envision the new commercial sellers and
'corporate affiliates' starting to scour Twitter content for potential
customers to start selling to.
And while I know many pride themselves with the number of followers and
tweets they have, the only REAL WAY to ensure you don't have to concern
yourself with this trolling, would be to start a BRAND NEW Twitter
account....
