In regards to "back in the day", I was on the Board of Directors when the
decision was made to disband the IAC/ISGs. I am also a past IAC Chair, so
that group was near and dear to my heart. It was not an easy decision for the
Board to make. The recommendation to disband came from the ISG Chair. The
ISGs were costing the Association big dollars for the numbers participating.
We did have a couple of ISGs that were vibrant, but only a couple. Volunteer
leaders were also hard to come by. Like I said, it was the recommendation of
the ISG Chair and her committee, and it was not an easy decision to make, but
it's one we felt we had to make.
