This technical report describes the strategy, techniques, and tools needed for creating, implementing, and managing electronic file plans in organizations. It includes a sample project plan written from a project management perspective and a hypothetical, industry-neutral case study that illustrates how an electronic file structure can be developed and implemented according to the procedures described in the technical report. This technical report complements the American National Standard Policy Design for Managing Electronic Messages (ANSI/ARMA 19-2012).
