There have been eight definitions of IG over the years, since the first one (that I could find) was issued by Gartner in 2007, until the latest one from the IGI (2014).  I have a list of all eight, with their sources.  The one you cite below appears to be derived from the eDiscovery Journal definition of 2011, which reads as follows:


“A comprehensive program of controls, processes, and technologies designed to help organizations maximize the value of information assets while minimizing associated risks and costs.”
