KEYS FOR RECORDS AND INFORMATION
MANAGEMENT SUCCESS
ARMA Metro Maryland
14th Annual Spring Seminar
Thursday, April 12, 2012 - 8:00
AM to 4:30PM

COME ONE!  COME ALL!!!

This seminar offers a
fresh take on the typical spring seminar offerings.  Attend the Metro MD Education Seminar and
find the keys for records and information management success.  Experienced RIM professionals will share
their accumulated knowledge of factors that deliver successful projects and
identify barriers that can impede progress.  Learn how you can achieve the same success for your RIM program by
managing projects to keep tasks, people, and timelines all focused on the end
goal.

Morning Session Key Speaker:  Bruce Miller, MBA, President of RIMtech, is widely regarded as the inventor of
modern electronic recordkeeping software.  Mr. Miller will share his “12-step structured methodology” that can be
used for developing and implementing recordkeeping systems but is also a useful
guide for developing successful records and information management projects.

Afternoon Session One:  Susan Sullivan, CRM, Corporate Records
Management Program Director, and Don Rosen, Director of Policy Analysis and
Enforcement,  National Archives and Records
Administration will
discuss how they planned, piloted, and implemented an agency wide shared drive
clean up as well as how the project, and other research supported the
development of the recent NARA Bulletin No. 2012-02.

Afternoon Session Two:  Robert J. Van Hooser, J.D., attorney from
Millican and Associates,who
has pioneered the focus on Information Governance in bridging the gap between
the legacy of paper records and the reality of today’s electronic information,
will talk about putting “Records” projects in perspective from a framework for
managing a project to an approach to organizational information.

Panel Discussion:  Last session of the day will be an open panel discussion on the keys to
success.  Bring your questions and
speakers will bring their answers.
