Increasingly, many "photographs" are digital and are therefore not
printed from a negative using traditional silver photographic
processing....but on a computer printer using "photographic paper" made
for those printers. What is the comparison of longevity of the images
from the traditional process and the computer printed images?

Why not think of the printed copy of the image to be a mere copy, with
the digital file being the 'master' record.

Just preserve the digital copy - which, I know, is easier said than
done, but it can be done. Convert to an "Openly specified" format (jpg
is open, I don't think that RAW is) and actively manage the digital
files (and remember, lots of copies keeps stuff safe).

If you need a printed copy in the future, just print off another one.
