Carrie

I am using a Crown 3410 stockpicker in my records storage center. Its
battery operated with a 24 volt battery. Battery has 12 cells and
weighs 1700 pounds. Have had for almost a year and had a recent
incident where one of cells developed a crack and had 2-3 gallons of
battery juice on the floor. Unfortunately had left parked in one of the
aisles so fluid got under guide rails and shelving footings. Still
working that issue. Crown subcontracts batteries to Interstate Battery
Co. The stockpicker goes to a height of 18 feet and I can manually
override to 22 feet, which I need to on occassion. One person vehicle,
2 could ride if you have 2 safety belts, have a wooden pallet on the
forks which can safely lift about 2000 pounds to the 22 feet level.
Also, can do turn of 360 degrees.

Hi Everyone,
I've been asked to post a question to the listserv from our Records
Center staff. Our records center shelving is fourteen shelving units
high (single layer). They are looking for information on the type of
lift equipment various records centers (commercial, private or
governmental) are using to get boxes up to the shelving (above say the
fourth shelf). We're trying to decide if it is better to refurbish
what
we have or buy something else. We currently use a battery powered
lift
that can carry 1 person and 6 boxes (three across and stacked two
high)
to the needed height. Any information on brands, models, features you
particularly like about your equipment would be appreciated.

Thanks,
