Graham, while the hypothetical situation you cite has the potential to
occur (or so I have been told), one has to take into account the risk of
such a court challenge occurring, and balance that against the cost of
"being consistent with ALL of your records destruction". In many
environments, the risk is minimal, and may not justify the potential
cost of achieving that consistency.
