Alan was a pioneer in the field of records management and information
retrieval, and he based his consulting firm in Sarasota. He was one of the
founders of the Association of Records Executives and Administrators of New
York City and was instrumental in merging it with the internationally
recognized Association of Records Managers and Administrators, for which he
served on the board for many years.
