Dear colleagues:

Taking a break from RAINdrips and peer-reviewed journals, here's a question for your aggregate body of knowledge:

The RIM requirements of departments that develop proprietary software for their organizations' use may need special consideration in terms of big buckets and retention periods.  

Can anyone float some ideas based on the idiosyncratic nature of software development?  What do you know about these issues?  What is your experience? Can you refer me to any resources?  (I was unable to find answers on the ListServ Archives.)

It seems that we are in an era when lab notebooks are being replaced by digital collaboration sites. Is this a complicating factor?
