Apologies for cross-posting, but I thought it best to cast my net wide on this ...

A recent tweet from Gregory Foster ("http://projectblacklight.org is a faceted discovery interface built as a Rails engine") brought this free open-source cataloguing software to my attention. On looking at the site, however, it seems that Blacklight is not suitable for use in a Windows environment, which unfortunately rather limits its usability in the majority of contexts.

My question for the list is, does anyone know of any comparable software that is compatible with Windows? The interface seems very flexible and intuitive, and it would be interesting to see whether such an approach could be adapted to serve as the front end of a corporate (or at least business unit) classification scheme or file-plan.

Regards,

Rachel
