Position: IP Records Coordinator
Location: Washington, DC
Primary Duties include:
* Coordination of workflow and quality checking the records process,
ensuring client/matter numbering is correct for file identification,
storage and organization, auditing and tracking of files, identifying
closed and abandoned files, training of new and existing staff, and
communicating with personnel regarding file requests
* Processing files for firm file intakes and assisting secretaries and
other personnel in locating misplaced files.
* Assists Records Manager in development of records policies and works
with staff on day to day basis regarding schedules and assignments.
Knowledge of File Surf or similar file tracking database software is
essential.
Knowledge of patent and trademark law, experience in supervising staff,
excellent oral and written communications skills, the ability to
organize and prioritize work, sound judgment and a professional demeanor
are all essential to this position. Applicants must be able to
physically, stand, walk and/or sit on a frequent and continuous basis
for a minimum of 7.5 hours per day, also stoop, kneel, reach overhead,
push and pull file carts and lift cartons up to 50 pounds on an as
needed basis.
Requirements:
* HS Diploma or equivalent, BA/BS degree preferred
* Minimum of 5 years experience in an IP law firm records environment.
* 3-5 years supervisory experience.
