We use the small opening bins, but the Records Liaison for the Divisions that generate the most drawings (Engineering and IT/GIS) have a key to the bins and will open them to insert the drawings. A little more time consuming, but the only way we have found to accommodate the drawings easily. I was told by several shred companies that making larger openings defeats the their purpose, because a larger opening will allow someone to insert their arm and hand to reach the contents.

Subject: [RM] Shred Bins for Large Blueprints

I am looking for a container that can be used to dispose of confidential
blueprints without folding them several times over in order to stuff
them through a small opening. My shred service does not offer anything
except the traditional console and the 64 and 94 gallon bins with the
small openings.

Any ideas or sources?
