We're leaning in this direction, Steve. Do you have or know of any
documented best practices (ARMA, AIMM, ANSI, ISO, etc.)? Steve said so
just doesn't solidify my case much ; )
I'm also uncovering some industry-specific configuration management best
practices that would discourage this - at a minimum.

... We're looking at deleting those series and re-using the records
series code numbers. If anyone knows of any free references on the
