Interesting to note the following in the DRAFT NARA is sending around for
comments, given our discussion last week about retaining metadata

(Pg3, Q6, "Disposition")

• Maintain metadata until all portions of the file are properly disposed of
or transferred to NARA


So based on the above, the guidance for Federal Agencies (or others creating
and maintaining Federal Records) ONCE PROPERLY DISPOSED OF, metadata is also
to be disposed of.
