Further to what I just sent. Here is an ISO standard:

ISO23081-1:2006 - Information and Documentation - Records Management
processes - Metadata for Records
Section 4: "Metadata ensure authenticity, reliability, usability, and
integrity over time and enable the management and understanding of
information objects, whether these are physical, analogue or digital."

Section 5.2.1 Those who wish to present an electronic record as
evidence in legal proceedings shall be able to prove
*	Authenticity of the record
*	Integrity of the RMS that a record was recorded or stored in;
and
*	That it is " a record made in the usual and ordinary course of
business" or that it is otherwise exempt from the legal rule barring
hearsay evidence

Subject: Are scanned documents considered as records?

Hello,
can anyone help me with that?
The question I have been asked is do we have to maintain hard copies of
HR
files If we image the files and store the images appropriately do we
have to
keep the hard copy?
can anyone tell me if a scan copy is considered a legal record for
canadian
judges.

Thanks in advance
Michele Bernard
