Aside form one page that promotes a product/service in this document, there
is some information that seems to contradict a discussion we had in the past
two weeks here about risk being more important to organizations than
protecting information.

http://goo.gl/a4oXK

The demographics here are quite detailed and solid- over 40% IT Managers and
Executives from organizations providing input, 30% of companies 1000 to
10000 in size, across 14 industry segments. Only 3% using the cloud,
another 8% likely to adopt and 43% interested.

"When asked to estimate the average value of the business data on their
laptop or desktop, 90% undervalued their business data. Only 10% of those
surveyed believed the cost of replacing this data to be around the $50 000
mark. This is often because we forget the associated costs of data loss."

"With over 50% of those surveyed having lost data in the last 12 months, and
20% saying it would take longer than a week to recover this data, it is
obvious that a massive requirement for more effective data backup and
recovery exists."

The data in this report may be of interest to your organization's IT and
Business Management teams

.... that is unless you work for Ostrich Inc. whose tagline is "No Head
Buried Quick or Deep Enough"
