10% for very basic system implementation, maintenance, 20% for a system
requiring a bit of "configuration", and easily 100% and up for a cross
enterprise implementation of an ERM system based on integration with a cross
enterprise ECM as a repository. That means you need to estimate very
precisely the extent of the organizational impact. It is not uncommon to pay
as much (or more) for the professional services to implement an ERM cross
enterprise application as you spent on the software. It especially depends
on IT systems integration and user adoption challenges.

Subject: professional services as % of software

I realize that it depends upon exact work, level of customization,
magnitude, etc. but I'm interested in your thoughts about a ballpark
estimate for professional services as a % of document (content)management
and records management governance software acquisition/deployment.
