I agree with Chris to a large degree, particularly with the 'not deep enough
on the session content' aspect of Conference.
As the principal of a consulting/professional services firm without a
software solution to exhibit, the conference cost is just the beginning of
the expense incurred - days off from client jobsites adds to the expense.
With that said, education is the cornerstone to hone our professional
skills, further our mission for bringing records management to the forefront
of compliance and risk management in our collective organizations, and if
done properly, should provide for contextual learning.
I'd like to see some 'real' Case Study work offered, perhaps for vertical
markets or topics, which would allow participants to get into the weeds to
fully understand the project planning, communications, scoping,
implementation, training, and on-going support required to develop and
maintain program integrity.
