Ahhh must be a slow Friday for some in the Realm...
I'd assume there was more of a reference area where the
books/publications/whatever were viewed but that they were seldom allowed
to be removed. There weren't copies, so once it was out, there was no
possibility for anyone else to use the materials. And it's not like there
was a card catalog for others to know what was there, my thinking is the
Librarian had to tell you if there was something or not.
