The law firm I work in does not have an email records management policy.   I am looking for advice and recommendations to who have put on in place in your own law firm.  I am also looking for advice to help me in making a valid argument to the management of my firm as to why one is important.

Currently, these are some of the ways in which email is handled by the individual attorneys in my office -

* Some attorneys make sure the emails are printed and placed in the file but are not saved to the file in our DMS system.
* Some attorneys make sure the emails are printed and placed in the file AND are saved to the file in our DMS system.
* Some attorneys NEITHER print their emails for the file or save them to the file our DMS system, resulting in the emails only residing in their email inboxes.
