Hi Everyone,
First a short introduction...I have been lurking on the list for three years and have learned a lot about RM and all sorts of other things. I have done some RM and now am a digital archivist. I wanted to ask this great group a couple of questions, as I know that many of you have to provide access and/or preservation in your RM roles-plus many of you deal with e-discovery so you know this side of things. I have asked these questions to archivists, but wanted to see if you had some different advice, tools that you use, etc.
Have any of you had to save Hotmail emails for lawsuits, through retention schedules, etc.? Hotmail is different from other 'cloud' emails in that IMAP can't be used-although one can do an IMAP like download with it. It is an odd duck out there. I just wondered if anyone else had done it...
I am looking for a very low cost or free viewer to use to view electronic files that I preserve. I have been testing out QuickView Plus, and it seems okay but it falls short on web pages, power points and doesn't do audio or video viewing. Otherwise it is a great program. We can't afford something like Lexus Nexus and this is not part of an EDMS, but does anyone have another low cost viewer that they like?
Cheers
Lisa
