Just wanted to thank those who responded to my post both on/offline, your comments--for the most part, reflected exactly what I've been thinking all along. To summarize, most seemed to think that--gradually, service levels will change, current fees will increase, and additional fees will be added. As we're under contract for 3 more years and I'm being told that things will stay the same "for now," it'll be interesting to see what this will be like a year from now.
I liked our vendor before the acquisition... it was a small, local, and family-owned business that was very well-run. Not that we are looking to make a move or anything, but it's discouraging to think that finding another "small, local, and family-owned business that is very well-run" in this area, I suspect, will be difficult.
