Welcome to the Washington DC Metro Area. It is a wonderful place to call
home and there is a very active records management community here as well.

I am ARMA International's Mid-Atlantic Region Coordinator for the National
Capital Area. I see that Leigh has introduced herself as the President of
the Greater Washington DC Chapter.

In addition to GWDC, there are two other ARMA Chapters that serve the area.
The Metro Maryland Chapter, to which I have belonged since 2000, serves
Montgomery County and areas mostly to the north of DC, and the Northern
Virginia (NoVa) Chapter which serves our neighbors across the Potomac River.
The Northern Virginia Chapter typically meets monthly in Vienna while the
Metro Maryland Chapter meets monthly in a variety of locations, most Metro
accessible along the Red Line, from Silver Spring and Bethesda to the south
and locations such as Rockville, Gaithersburg and Germantown to the north.
You can find information on these chapters on the internet as well. Please
contact me if I can be of any service in connecting your to the large RIM
network in the area.

Have a good weekend as well.

I'm a contract federal records specialist in the District of Columbia and
I'm trying to get more involved professionally. Anybody out there a member
of the local ARMA chapter? I'm not the greatest at networking so I'd
definitely be interested if there are events approaching or suggested ways
to get involved. After bouncing all over the country the last few years
looking for work, I think I've found a place to call home.
