The name of the book is "Guide to Record Retention Requirements In the
Code of Federal Regulations as of January 2006". The publisher is CCH, a
Wolters Kluwer business.

I bought it when I started my current job and it was helpful, not only for
retention periods but for scanning and storage processes, etc.

The issue I wish, wish would happen is, when a record retention period or
record process is contained in a law, they would put that up front, not
buried in the back.

If I were the "Records President" I would pass a law (or get one passed)
that said all records retention periods and records processes have to go
in the second paragraph (the first would be the law's description) and I
would have staff that would monitor and make sure it happened, before the
bill was made law.

Have a great weekend Everyone.

several years ago and I am sure it has increased since. Does anyone
know how many laws there are in the US that affect retention?
<<

Through the morning pre-coffee fog I seem to remember a publication from
the Government Printing Office, like, 1996-ish, that consolidated all
federal statutes dealing with records/retention into one publication. It
was never updated, as I recall, and eventually became outdated. And I
discarded my copy long ago. Wish they would have kept up with that. Or
did they?
