I wonder about this, actually: we know that a land-line requires court intervention to tap a line ... but, with so much being turned into packets and sent over tcp/ip, DO they actually need a wiretap order? If it's internet traffic (or even satellite / radio traffic, which may be included in the circuit)? As far as radio goes, the FCC maintains that they can listen, because it's broadcast. So, if your telephone routing goes over a wireless link at some point, does it require a wiretap order? Just wondering, as it seems a bit of a gray area. -D ------------------------- Dr. David T.
