Thanks for the clarification, Fred.  A parable it is then.  :)

As for not moving ... anyone who knows me knows that is not likely to
occur.  I'm pretty much constantly in motion.  Besides, in a nod to Mike's
comment ... I must have seen Jaws at too young of an age as I have
developed an irrational fear of fish.  I won't swim in any body of water
with fish in it, and won't even let my husband buy a fish tank.  So I think
I'll stick with my original plan of avoiding the river altogether.
