Carole,

When holding meeting such as the one you're having, I have always felt
that the best way to acknowledge everyone's busy schedule is to hold a
concretely substantive meeting, so they never feel their time is being
wasted. In your described situation I would make as the agenda a review
of the team's mission and an overview of the RIM priorities that your
organization is currently facing (or conversely, asking them to list for
you the most pressing RIM priorities from their perspective.) So you
either bring a priorities list to the meeting or make one from the
meeting.

I just formed my first Records Management Advisory Team (YIKES) and our
first meeting just got moved from next Monday to tomorrow! I don't want
to send the entire team running screaming from the building by hitting
them up all at once with the challenges we face in this newly created
department, however I am scrambling for ideas to get them thinking and
feeling good about being on this team without boring them to death. This
is a small group and everyone knows each other so I'm not looking for
icebreaker type activities or ideas. I mainly want to get them thinking
about records. Get the neurons firing...Does anyone have any ideas or
things they have tried or suggestions? I am a Toastmaster and can def.
research some things but am running short of time.
