I also work at a law firm and have encountered the same challenges.  We use a tool called iImport by DocAuto.  It has worked very well for us.  Our data management administrator is able to set up jobs to run in the background, eliminating the tedious task of repeatedly hitting the "enter key" and enabling her to work on other tasks.  There may be other tools available, but this is the one I am most familiar with and recommend you take a look.
