Program: Elizabeth W. Adkins,
Director of Global Information Management at CSC, will discuss a RIM compliance
framework for electronic records.  Typical enterprise content management
systems focus on unstructured records, address “declared records,” can’t handle
every format or interface, and are costly and time-consuming to
implement.  A RIM compliance framework addresses structured as well as
unstructured records, can be established without major funding investment,
enables a tiered and prioritized approach to compliance, and can be a foundational
planning tool for a “champion” technology.  Elizabeth will share the
details of a proposed RIM compliance framework and its advantages and
disadvantages compared to traditional ECM solutions.

Speaker: Elizabeth W. Adkins,
CRM, CA, is director of Global Information Management at CSC.  She is an
internationally recognized expert in archives and records and information
management, with more than 25 years of experience leading programs in large,
multinational companies, including Ford Motor Company and Kraft Foods.
Elizabeth is a Certified Archivist, Certified Records Manager, and a
Fellow of the Society of American Archivists (SAA).  She has served as
treasurer and president of SAA, as president of the Academy of Certified
Archivists, and as a leader in ARMA International.  She is currently vice
president of the Northern Virginia chapter of ARMA and is a member of the ARMA
International 2013 Conference Content Task Force.
