Hi Glen,

In response to your questions fees can vary, but if you really know how to use the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act), you can actually have agencies do a lot of work and research for your for minimal cost.  So if any of you have a research paper, see what you can do under FOIA guidelines to have public agencies retrieve information for you.

I believe that it depends on what type of request you have, but they agency may tabulate some of those results for you or they give you all related documents so that you can do the statistical analysis yourself.
