Hello, Listserv Colleagues,
I want to thank everyone who responded to my request for information about
moving sensitive records in the context of an office move/remodel. Your
suggestions were very helpful.
Another issue associated with the move is the production of box contents
lists. While many of our records have been entered into a database from
which we can easily produce box contents lists simply by wanding in the
barcodes of the folders during the boxing process, there is a significant
number of folders that haven't been entered into any sort of tracking
system.
In a situation like this, is there any alternative to the labor-intensive
process of compiling box contents lists manually, either in handwritten
lists or by manually entering the data on a laptop while boxing up the
folders?
Again, any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
