Has anyone been able to bring a Symbol Barcode Scanner LS2208 "back from the dead"? We have a unit that is dropping digits off and on and taking too long to scan the barcode (several seconds). I have reset the factory setting (and have experience programming the scanners in the past), so I am fairly confident it isn't a programming issue (it is scanning the correct barcode over 50% of the time).

We have reportedly had the scanner for about 5 years (only moderate use though), so it shouldn't be worn down, but apparently it is. We have had it long enough where we can't return it unfortunately.

Before I dispose of the scanner, does anyone know of any additional tricks to squeeze a little more life out of it?

Thanks!

- Brett
