However, I agree that some banks do not check. That does not release us from signing them though. I don't know of any merchant that would accept an unsigned check.

I'm sure that some banks check signatures on checks sometimes, but the credit card people surely do not. I make my mark, not a signature , on those transactions. The legal evidence weight of ink signatures is fading. You just wonder if it will end or linger on.
