South Dakota mail policy: Don't ask, don't keep

RAPID CITY | Dead men tell no tales, and if they worked for the state of
South Dakota, neither do their emails.

By the time former state employee Richard Benda killed himself last October

his state email account was long dead. It was deleted nearly three years
earlier in accordance with a state policy that discourages long-term email
