Hi Bruce,

Your statement about data having a tendency to be replicated is interesting.
An example this makes me think about is a human ³taking notes,² when reading
a text book. We we take notes so we can go back to those notes, at a later
time, to consume them as needed. We take those notes as our interpretation
of the source (the textbook) and the importance of such notes is subjective
to the person who created them. The notes act as a replication of what we
observed. The notes might be slightly different than the original source
and what we consume from the notes may also be slightly different than what
we wrote.

Another interesting aspect is the concept of temporal memory. Clearly, when
we persist something outside the mind, the tools we use for persistence
(paper for notes or storage for bits) allow for much longer and more
accurate persistence and (i.e. ³memory²) than most human minds. Clearly,
this becomes an asset or a liability for RM, depending on which side of
litigation one sits.

My Best,

Frank
