Position Description
 
Position Title:                Records Center Clerk
 
Reports To:                  Corporate Records Manager
 
Summary:                     Under the direction of the Corporate
Records Manager, assist with the operation of a 10,000 square foot
Corporate Records Facility and provide clerical support to the Records
Department.
 
Principal Contacts:        Most contact is internal in nature.  
 
Performance Objectives:
 
- Perform day-to-day records warehouse operation functions, including
matters relating to safety, security and general organization. 
- Immediately take charge of shipping and receiving activities. 
- Conduct semi-annual and as needed records inventories; assist with
inventory reconciliation activities. 
- Within 30 days, demonstrated ability to classify, sort and distribute
incoming information. 
- Prepare material labeling and capture record identifiers; assist with
data entry. 
- Retrieve, circulate and file records and record storage containers. 
- Assist with new and back-file material re-organization. 
- Assist with material review and drive records disposal activities. 
- Additional duties include supply distribution, copying and special
projects as assigned. 
 
Success Criteria:
 
- Keen attention to detail and good organizational skills. 
- Knowledge of bar coding technology. 
- Ability to recognize and challenge incomplete or inaccurate
information. 
- Knowledge of general business and record keeping procedures. 
- Good oral and written communication skills. 
- Ability to operate modern office and mechanical equipment. 
- Ability to lift and carry heavy material and handle boxes and plan
bags on ladders at heights up to fifteen (15) feet. 
- Ability to work under pressure, adhere to schedules and maintain
pleasant working relationship with all levels of personnel.  Sense of
humor required.  
 
Education:        Two-year degree preferred with coursework in records
management principles and practices.
 
Experience:       Previous warehouse and general office experience in a
records management environment required.  Knowledge of relational
databases and experience in construction field helpful.
