ARMA has a book Job Descriptions - A Guideline available on its bookstore website. ISBN: 0-933887-12-4. It was published in 1991 and I have had to change/update some of the requirements when posting for jobs, but it gives a good guideline of necessary skills for many different RM positions. Might be a useful tool for you.

Hi, I'm a long time lurker who badly needs some information. I am the
archivist for Montgomery County, Alabama. I work from the Probate Judge's
office, but I take care of all the county's records. Currently I am also
supervising the Probate Recording Office.
I need some jobs descriptions for records clerks. I've looked through the
listserv archives and found several queries on this subject, but all the
responses must have been sent off-list. If you have a description for a
records clerk position, I would really appreciate your sending it to me.
