My concern here is the format on which you will keep the image. Is it
microfilme ( oh my gosh do people still use that) or optical disk or a CD. Will
you be able to read the documents later?

accounting transactions and destroy all paper copies afterwards. Is
there any reason -- legal or otherwise -- which would preclude the
destruction of all paper copies?
So many companies all over the country are scannign accounting documents to
CD's, it is probably no problem since they have a shorter retention period
than say your Blood Donor Record that is forever.
