First, thanks to Bill Roach and everyone who has contributed to the
"Interesting Observation" thread.  I am fervent in my belief that IT and
records management ought to be joined at the hip in the development and
management of electronic recordkeeping systems.  

So I was intrigued by Ron Frazier's posting and appreciated the links to the
Georgia websites, especially the Georgia Records Association

In Virginia, the "Virginia Association of Government Archives and Records
Administrators", is the group that I assume is similar to the Georgia
Records Association.   

The vision of the Georgia Document Management Association, according to
their website, is to provide a comprehensive focus for Agencies to gather
and share information and practices in document management and related
technologies.

I'm hoping someone from Georgia can explain to me how (and why) Georgia has
both a records management and document management association.  Is the GDMA
open to non-government organizations; are they primarily concerned with
non-records, or is it something else?
