I actually started hiring interns through a local college a couple of years ago,
as way of obtaining additional help for my records department. As a result of
its success, we have established a newly executed externship with the
college. Initially I advertised the position with the student
services/employment office on campus but now I rely on referrals. I hire most
often when one student graduates or decides to pursue other opportunities
and/or I have a vacancy and workload necessitates additional personnel.
